Hi Caroline – Trinny and Susannah’s range has a thong (don’t laugh) which looks a bit scary but is cut a bit lower than the power panties and such, that might work. From what I remember it’s not got a narrow waistband that digs in or creates muffin top, it’s just good for smoothing.

Otherwise there’s a spanx half-slip in the hide and sleek range that’s essentially a bodycon mini-skirt. You could pull that as low as you wanted and it’d still flatten and lift. xx

Hi Gemma,

I’m absolutely going to be investing in the Spanx slip after reading your review, but was just wondering whether you have any advice on shapewear that works under a low-backed dress? It’s not very low, but I tend to find shapewear often comes higher up the back that a regular bra.
