As silly as the concept may seem, there’s a real element of truth in the fact that a big bag can make you look smaller in comparison. If you’re a big girl, carrying an oversize bag rather than a dinky clutch not only provides you with a useful prop for photo ops (don’t pretend you’ve not held your bag over your belly when someone whips out their cameraphone!) but also gives you the impression of being slimmer all over.
